Ceremonies/Functions

Cadets will participate in many ceremonies and functions throughout the year that celebrate military traditions.  Cadets have marched in the Veteran's Day Parade in San Marcos and the parade in Kyle.  The cadets also participate in the Veteran's Day Program at Lehman High School and provide Color Guard for Veteran's Day programs in other schools.  Several of the cadets had the opportunity to attend the Govenor's Dinner at the capitol.

The cadets had their first Annual Military Inspection (AMI) during the 2010-2011 school year.  This is an annual inspection by the Navy that scores the cadets on their appearance, drills, formations and ability to answer questions about the Chain of Command and 11 Orders to the Sentry.  The inspection was carried out by the Area 10 Manager, Mike Hail, USN Ret. and other volunteers from the Navy.  Part of the scoring system is based on parent and communtiy support, so we encourage parents to attend.

Every May the cadets participate in the Change of Command.  It is during the Change of Command ceremony that the current officers retire their post and the incoming officers take command.  It is a time honored military tradition.  It is during this ceremony that awards and promotions are presented to the cadets.
