Booster Meeting/Freshman Open House
Parents and Cadets, the first Booster of the school year will be held Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at 6:30 pm in the ROTC rooms at Lehman. The Freshman Open House will also be held on the same day from 6:00-7:30pm.

Kyle Performing Arts Center
This is the time honored tradition in the military in which the present officers and staff hand over their watch to the new officers and staff. The cadets get their final promotions for the year and awards are presented. We also bid farewell to our seniors. Bring your cameras and tissues. Refreshments to be served after.
Marksmanship Grant
The program was awarded a $6200 grant. This grant will provide 6 rifles, stands, scopes and equipment, targets and pellets. All cadets in Marksmanship will be traveling to Austin on May 10th where the check will be awarded at the Friends of the NRA Banquet!

How Do You Spell Success? AMI2!!!
On Thursday, February 23, 2012, the Lehman Navy JROTC conducted their Annual MilitaryInspection. This inspection is vitality important in that it ranks all 61 Navy JROTC Units in
Texas against one another, and at a time when military spending is being drastically reduced,
simply passing the inspection isn't good enough. To quote the Inspecting Officer, Commander
Butch Neuenschwander, Navy ROTC Commander at The University of Texas at Austin, " The
Lehman High School Navy JROTC has set an all new standard. In my two years of conducting
these inspections, I have never seen a finer performance." A special congratulations to the
Unit Commanding Officer Cadet LCDR Cortney Cygan for her outstanding leadership, and to
Cadet Senior Chief Elexis Esquivel who is the Unit Supply Officer and took ZERO discrepancies
in the inventory of approximately $310,000.00 worth of uniforms and military gear....and to

Adopt-A-Highway has been moved to Saturday, February 25th due to weather.

USS Lexington
The Cadets will be traveling to Corpus Christie to experience a night aboard the USS Lexington. The Cadets will be leaving at noon on Friday, January 20th and returning at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 21st.

Please help us raise money by purchasing a 2012 Lehman NJROTC calendar for $10. The cadets will be getting order forms tomorrow (Thursday, December 1st). Veteran's Day Ceremony
You are invited to the Lehman High School Veterans Day Program November 11, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. in the LHS gym. Refreshment to be served beginning at 2:00 p.m.
Our program, sponsored by the L.H.S. NJROTC and the VFW Buda/Kyle Post 12058, will honor veterans and active military from all branches of the military with the posting of colors, performances by the LHS NJROTC, Choir, Band, Art Department, Theatre Arts, Journalism, and a message from V.F.W. Post members.
We invite all Veterans, military personnel and their families to join us and be recognized at this Veteran’s Day celebration. HCISD administration, staff and community members are invited to attend and help us honor our Veterans at this assembly.
We would also like to recognize all veterans who are members of LHS student’s families on our Wall of Honor. Students can get a star from their Den teacher and write the Veteran’s name and duty information on it. Please return these to the LHS office.

CAR POOL SIGN-UP!
Any Cadet that needs help getting home from practice, getting to an event or community service just needs to sign up for car pooling. In an effort to keep all of our Cadets safe and able to participate we are setting up car pools. Cadets can sign up or request a ride home from practice or other NJROTC events at any time during the year. The Cadet Sign Up Form is on the Cadet page and the form for Car Pool Drivers is on the Parents page.
NJROTC Booster Fundraising Event

Summer Schedule
July 18, 2011--9:00 am - 11:00 am--There will be orientation for all incoming cadets in the NJROTC rooms at Lehman.
July 20, 2011--8:00 am- 10:00 am--Summer Drill Practice will begin. Drill Practice will continue on every Monday and Wednesday thereafter until school starts.
Congratulations Cadets!
The cadets traveled to Midland, Texas on April 9, 2011 and brought home EIGHT trophies! The Unarmed Team placed 3rd in Inspection, 3rd in Regulation and 2nd in Expedition. The Armed Team place 1st in Inspection, 2nd in Regulation and 1st in Expedition. The Marksmanship Team placed 2nd. The Unit placed 2nd in the Sweepstakes and 2nd in the Tattoo (overall score). Kyle York placed 2nd in Marksmanship. This was the third time that the cadets have travelled to a Drill Meet. What an outstanding group of young men and women!
